Music influences a lot on man's emotion, way of thinking and lifestyle. If we consider in functional aspect of music, music stimulates or tranquilizes, treats emotion of human and triggers studying for man. By the way, today, adolescents tend to prefer popular music overly by mass media, especially depend on the Internet. Therefore school musical education may have to help to listen to various genre of music to adolescents who are shown immoderate preponderance phenomenon in music preference. It is desirable for adolescents to appreciate classical music that the line of melody is clear and its structure is stabilized as the purpose of school education is well balanced and education for the whole person. After the result of questionnaire for adolescents' preference of popular music, 74.67% of respondents answered that they enjoy and listen to popular music, and students who responded 'Yes' about item that 'Classical music is better than popular music.' appeared by 14.46%. And 29.46% of respondents were appeared that they think classical music is tedious. It is proved that they think school music appreciation class is tedious because it is based on classical music which is not interesting like popular music. Therefore, when we guide these students, it needs to arouse their interest so that they can depart from thinking that school music appreciation class is bored. Popular music which is modified from classical music can be adopted TV drama, movie, background music of ad for motivation of student. But it should be remembered that it must help concentration on music appreciation not by interest preference. And it will be helpful for adolescents to contact with classical music frequently by using audio-visual aids, or making words to appreciation music, or taking advantage of lunch period by operating music hall. In addition, to express ideas or feelings in connection with pictures or literature, performance art after music appreciation will be vital class that students can lead it. The most important thing is teacher's thorough preparation, passion and effort even if what kinds of methods to be used. It is depend on teacher that class is success or not whatever method is used. I expect that such as study and effort will lead students to have their sincerely desirable music class far from boring music appreciation class, at least current overly preponderance phenomenon in music preference will be mitigated.
