This paper purports to comparatively analyze educational practice teachers' and student apprentices' understanding of the practice teachers' performance in elementary school. Based on the analysis, it intends to find out how to increase the quality of the educational practice. For these research goals, this paper selected 300 practice teachers from the schools operating or cooperating with educational practice, and 300 juniors and seniors from Jinju College of Education who have experienced practice. For the questionnaire, practice teachers' roles were classified into an exemplary educator, a teaching activity leader, a provider of growth opportunity, a practice conductor, a practice evaluator, a practice leader, and a counselor. And 34 questions of 5-step scale were made. The research results can be summarized as follows: Regarding the practice teachers' performance of their roles, the practice teachers thought they were doing well. Female teachers, teachers with more experience, and teachers assigned to a position thought they were doing a good job rather than male teachers, teachers with short experience, and teachers with no position. The practice teachers felt proud of teaching the student apprentices, but they thought the roles of practice evaluator and provider of growth opportunity were relatively short. The student apprentices evaluated the practice teachers' performance of their roles a little positive. The male student apprentices rather than the females evaluated more positively. This result suggests that the student apprentices understood the teachers' performance inferior to the teachers' recognition, and that the student apprentices' satisfaction with the practice was low compared with the teachers' efforts. The reason why the male student apprentices evaluated it better than the females may be that the practice teachers showed more interest in the male student apprentices who were smaller in number than the females. Thirdly, there was significant difference in understanding of the practice teachers' performance of their roles between the practice teachers and the student apprentices. The practice teachers evaluated that they were doing a good job as practice conductor and practice evaluator, but the student apprentices evaluated that they were doing a good job as exemplary educator and practice conductor. On the other hand, the practice teachers evaluated their performance of the roles of practice evaluator and provider of growth opportunity negative, while the student apprentices evaluated the performance of the roles of provider of growth opportunity and practice evaluator negative. This result means that the practice teachers' understanding of their roles has influence on the student apprentices' understanding. When the practice teachers understand their roles positively, it will be helpful for teaching practice.
